Some of my sculptures incorporate the Dahlia flower, which symbolizes resilience, grace, and inner strength — qualities that guide my creative practice. These pieces explore the female form and reflect transformation, empowerment, and the courage to move forward. My work continues to evolve to include portrait heads, full-figure sculptures, and raku-fired pieces, connecting past inspirations with new directions in my art.

Each sculpture is one of a kind, they can be duplicated but will not be an exact replica. Textures and size may vary.

Part 2: My Mentor Session with Basil Watson - The Bust

In this second part of my mentorship session with the renowned sculptor Basil Watson @basil.sculpture , I had the incredible opportunity to work on a bust of our live model, Cassandra Alíce @cassandraalice__ . Throughout this process, I learned valuable techniques for shaping and refining the sculpture.

We started by building the bust on an armature, focusing on establishing the overall form and proportions without detailing the facial features. After the structure was firm, we cut it in half together, hollowed out the interior, and then reassembled it. Basil guided me on how to ensure I had accurate measurements for the key design principles, helping me understand the importance of proportions for the head, neck, shoulders, and features of the face. We sculpted the details, which brought the sculpture to life. While our goal wasn’t to finish the bust entirely, this hands-on mentorship allowed me to deepen my understanding of essential sculpting techniques and refine my skills through practical experience #figuresculptures #creativeclaysulptures

I am excited to share that I sold a sculpture @overduerecognitiongallery . The artwork, titled “Resilient Soul,” a female torso embellished with a copper / green patina texture.

The layered textures of this female torso serve as a metaphor for life’s struggles and the weathering we endure. Through these challenges, the figure emerges with a resilient soul, reflecting the strength and perseverance that carry us forward.
